Demo release!

🎉 AFK Shift is now at a point where I consider the gameplay to be functionally complete! 🎉

This means that I’m happy enough to call this latest release the demo, and have it out there for playing and testing while I look into some of the ancillary things that I have planned to make it a more compelling game.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the demo won’t see any further changes! It may receive changes in response to player experience and feedback (or my whims), and I intend to keep pushing out new versions to keep it in sync with any updates and improvements needed for the full game.

Changes since the previous release

• Post-game scorecard, so you can see how badly you did.
• A bunch of new items and anomalies to the demo streams.
• Added a little visual juice to the menus.
• Fixed a bunch of bugs and niggles, not all of which were the result of the new changes!
• Lots of little dolls! People like little dolls, right? Not creepy at all!

Future plans

As mentioned, I have plans to add additional non-gameplay functionality to make the game stand out a bit more from the crowd. Primary amongst these is enabling people to create and share AFK streams of their own!

I’m also planning on publishing on Steam, both for visibility and because Steam Workshop seems to be the most seamless way for your average gamer to find and share mods. Or at the very least it’ll be a learning experience!
